Hey everyone, Trevor here!
I’m incredibly excited to finally share my brand new single, “Everyday,” with all of you. This track has been a long time coming, and it feels amazing to finally put it out into the world under The Trevor Show.
The Inspiration
Have you ever felt like you’re just moving through the motions? Like the weeks are passing by in a blur and you’re waiting for something—anything—to snap you out of it? That’s exactly where this song came from.
The lyrics dive right into that feeling of being stuck in a mental fog:
“Everyday I’m lazy. I sit around, I walk around, asleep all day. Everyday it’s hazy. I sit around, I walk around, asleep my life away.”
It’s an honest look at those “hazy” periods of life. I wanted to capture that tension between the comfort of being lazy and the desperate urge to finally wake up.
The “Avicii” Connection
You might notice a familiar reference toward the end of the chorus. I’ve always been inspired by the way music can signal a turning point in our lives. When I wrote the line, “Help me wake up / Like Avicii says, wake me up when it’s all over,” it was my way of paying homage to that feeling of wanting to skip the hard part and get to the “after.”
Musically, I wanted the track to feel like that first cup of coffee—starting a bit low-key and building up as the realization hits.
Listen Now
You can catch the official audio over on YouTube, or you can stream it directly right here via Apple Music:
“Everyday” is a song that comes from a place I think a lot of us can relate to. It’s about those days (or weeks, or months!) where you feel a bit stuck in a rut. You know, when “Everyday I’m lazy. I sit around I walk around asleep all day. Everyday it’s hazy. I sit around I walk around asleep my life away.”
It’s that feeling of wanting a jolt, a push, something to “Help me wake up!” I even threw in a little nod to the iconic Avicii line, “Wake me up when it’s all over,” because it perfectly captures that longing to break free from the mundane.
Thank you for the support! Whether you’re listening while lounging at home or using it as your motivation to get moving, I hope “Everyday” resonates with you. Drop a comment on the video and let me know what you think!
